Canada can choose to end poverty. Canada has more than enough wealth to guarantee that none of its citizens suffer from hunger, cold, or homelessness. The United Church of Canada calls on our municipal, provincial, and federal government to support a Guaranteed Livable Income (GLI) that would insure that every Canadian will have enough to get by.
On March 26th at 2:30, members of Sudbury’s United Churches will gather together at St-Andrew’s United Church to support this call. We will hold a vigil remembering the victims of poverty; learning about how GLI addresses this problem; and finally demonstrating our support for GLI in front of MP Lapointe’s office.
ALL ARE INVITED to join us. Please wear black clothes and bring candles, if able.
