Canadian Shield and Shining Waters Regional Councils announce a joint confirmation program!

If you know there are teens in your community of faith who would appreciate going on a confirmation journey, and you either don’t have the capacity, or are seeking a larger group for them to join – we are offering the program for you!

Supported by the Vision Fund so that there is no cost to your community of faith, or the teens and families, we will be led by The GO Project leadership and curriculum. Their program is designed to offer confirmands the chance to explore and deepen their faith and relationship with God and the church in a United Church of Canada theological context. Topics for sessions include, “Who am I?”, “Who is God?”, “Who is Jesus?”, “Who is the Spirit?”, Who are We?” (Christian & UCC History), “What are we called to do?”, and more.

Session dates: the fourth Sunday of the month (January – April, 2022) & May 28th – 19th for a retreat.

Email Rev. Alana @The GO Project, alana@thegoproject.ca to register and for more information.  Click on the button below to view the poster for the event.

Sacraments Elder Licensing
Sacraments Elders are those people in our communities of faith who offer their leadership in presiding over the sacraments when there is no called or appointed ministry personnel.  They are licensed and it is only valid for one year.  The Pastoral Relations Commission approves licenses from July 1st of the current year to June 30th of the following year.

If your community of faith would like to start or continue to have the support of a Sacraments Elder, your community of faith will need to apply to have that license/renew that license before June 30th The renewal process is very simple and can be completed on-line.
