Audited Financial Statements
Regional staff are responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of the region’s financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations, and for such internal control as is determined is necessary to enable the preparation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. In preparing the financial statements, regional staff are responsible for assessing the Region’s ability to continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable matters relating to going concern and using the going concern basis of accounting.
The Regional Council Executive are responsible for overseeing the Region’s reporting process. Part of this overseeing is the hiring of an outside firm to conduct the auditing of the financial statment. The auditors’ objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement and to issue an auditor’s report that includes their opinion. Please see Canadian Shield Regional Council’s audited financial statements below. These will be added to over time as reports become available.
