In Person LLWL Training
October 25 – 27 at Villa Loyola in Sudbury
Join us for this great opportunity to learn more about our Christian faith and find a rewarding way to serve our church. Rev. Kathy McCallum is offering an in person Licensed Lay Worship Leader Training for those in Canadian Shield Regional Council. We are now accepting registrations for our fourth in perssion session, being held on October 25-27, 2024 at Villa Loyola just outside of Sudbury. Canadian Shield Regional Council will be subsidizing this event, so it will only cost you $300 for the weekend.
We will be exploring the theme of Worship during the weekend – worship as pastoral care, the history of worship. As part of our worship learning, we will be looking at hymnody over the years, discussing types of prayers, and throughout speaking about the cohesiveness of theme in worship based on the scriptures. In small groups, we will take the time to work through and create worship services. We will speak of the Lectionary, and the Church Year. As part of our time together, we will discuss children’s time in worship and also learn about Nursing Home services and Funeral services. It will be a full and exciting weekend!! For the next sessions, we will be moving to the ‘Preaching’ part.
Pam Brown, who is currently in her last year at Atlantic School of Theology, will join us for our session on ‘Childrens Time’ (Time for all ages), and give us the benefit of some of her training in this. I am excited to have her with us. Pam took the LLWL course a number of years ago, and is now nearly at the end of her journey, following her call to Ordained ministry.
I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Kathy McCallum
