The Anti-Racism Subcommittee of the North Bay & Area Mission Cluster, of the United Church of Canada, is pleased to present this Community Anti-Racism Book Study featuring Canadian author, Desmond Cole’s book “The Skin We’re In”.
The book study will be held virtually every Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm beginning on February 9th and concluding on March 30th, for a total of 8 weeks. Every week as a group we will discuss 1-2 chapters of the book, along with relevant topics and materials. This workshop will provide a brave, nonjudgmental space to discuss Desmond Cole’s book, reflect on our own experiences and better understand the institutional and internalized racial biases within our society and ourselves.
The book study is free of charge, however you will be responsible for supplying your own book. There is limited space, so please only register if you can commit to the 8 weekly sessions.
