The New Creed of the United Church of Canada calls us “to live with respect in Creation” recognizing that creation is a gift of God. We recognize too that caring for Creation is a spiritual commitment and that environmental issues have profound ethical and moral dimensions that impact us all.
With this in mind, the Manitou Intentional Learning Community is excited to present a workshop “Discipleship in a Burning World” that will invite us to reorient ourselves within creation and examine what that demands of our discipleship.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 27th, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom and our special guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Jessica Hetherington, an eco-theologian and ordered minister within the United Church of Canada serving in the Ottawa area who will share with us her passion for environmental justice and behaviour change. Following her presentation, there will be opportunities for questions and discussion.
