DESCRIPTION:Please join the Manitou Intentional Learning Community for a three-session book study on Zoom of Queer Virtue: What LGBTQ People Know about Life and Love and How it Can Revitalize Christianity by Elizabeth Edman led by Peter Haddow\, from the Canadian Shield Regional Council Affirm Team on February 27th\, March 6th and March 13th at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.\nThe book examines how we can promote a “truer\, healthier version of Christianity and bring it to bear on the world.” Arguing that becoming such a community requires “discipline\, introspection and a willingness to repent when we get it wrong”\, Edman suggests that this study is especially appropriate for Lent.\nArguing from the heart of scripture\, Edman reveals how queering Christianity—that is\, disrupting simplistic ways of thinking about self and other—can illuminate contemporary Christian faith.
